The First African UNESCO Laureate and World Records Holder, Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu, The World Grand President of International Chartered World Learned Society USA has congratulated Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi, a Life Fellow of International Chartered World Learned Society USA on his re-appointment by President Tinubu as the Commandant General of Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
Delta Uhuru Media (News Online) learnt this from UNESCO Laureate and World Grand President of ICWLS, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a press statement today being March 2, 2026 made available to Journalists in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal capital Territory as. Prof Aremu expresses joy over Audi’s re-apportionment as CG of NSCDC.
Audi is a World Records Holder of International Chartered World Learned Society, USA. He was honoured during his first tenure in office with Golden Five Stars Awards In Peace & Security as “Salute Most Notable & Top Distinguished Peace Ambassador of Rare Fame of The 21st Century”.
Recently in the Media, it was gathered that President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi as the Commandant-General (CG) of the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for a new five-year term.

Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced this in a statement on Saturday, saying that Audi’s reappointment took effect from Friday, February 27, 2026.
The statement reads: “Prof Audi was first appointed to the position in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. His initial five-year term ended last Friday as he participated in activities commemorating the 2026 World Civil Defence Day at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja. He will resume his duties today being Monday, March 2, with a renewed appointment”.
UNESCO Laureate in the release while felicitating with the CG of NSCDC on his renewed appointment by President Tinubu stated that he is confident that Audi will reposition the service to play a more significant role in the country’s security.
Also, Aremu who then assured Nigerians, other critical stakeholders that Audi will continue as usual to work harmoniously with other security agencies in the country with special focus on the Agency’s core or constitutional mandates and with unity of purpose promoting inter-agencies co-operation towards the protection of lives and property of Nigerian Citizens.
The release by UNESCO Laureate reads in parts: “I , Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, The First African UNESCO Laureate use this medium to congratulate my brother and friend, Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi as his appointment as CG of NSCDC was renewed by President Tinubu.
The World Records Holder, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing the immense contributions, great achievements recoded by Audi in the nation’s Security sector during his first tenure which he said had earned him the re-apportionment by the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
“Prof Audi was born on September 30, 1967, in Laminga Town, Nasarawa LGA, Nasarawa State. After his early education in the state, he attended Teachers’ College in Jengre, Plateau State, where he obtained a Teachers’ Grade II Certificate in 1987”.
“I urge him to use his position to promote development in the Nation’s Security sector and serve Nigerians and humanity at Large. I pray for God’s divine mercy, grace, wisdom and protection to always be with him as he assumes duties today for the second time as CG of NSCDC”.
“Prof Audi further attended the College of Education, Akwanga, earning the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in 1992. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, he went to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education in 1995”.
“In 2001, he earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Calabar. He obtained a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in 2014, and a Master’s in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2019”.
“Audi joined the NSCDC in November 1996 as a volunteer and was deployed as a Divisional Officer in Obi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, after completing his basic officer training in 1997”.
“He had served in various state commands and, in 2007, was promoted to the rank of Commandant of the Corps and subsequently deployed to the office of the Commandant-General at the National Headquarters in Abuja”.
