JUOASAC Concludes Free JAMB Lessons, Awards Scholarships to Outstanding Students
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the Jessie Ukamaka Onogwuwe Akpodiete Skills Acquisition Center (JUOASAC) successfully concluded its month-long free JAMB/UTME preparatory program for students in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State.
The initiative, which also provided daily meals, was designed to support underserved students in their academic preparation and future aspirations.
The Director and organizer, Olorogun Prof. Alexander O. Akpodiete, expressed deep satisfaction with the level of participation and commitment demonstrated by the students throughout the program.
He commended the volunteer instructors — Mr. Kelvin Biezugbu, Ms. Nora Esther Johnson, and Ms. Prudence Igbinjesu — for their dedication in teaching key subjects including English Language, Literature, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Government.
At the closing ceremony, outstanding students were recognized and rewarded for their performance, which was assessed based on attendance, diagnostic evaluations, and a comprehensive 100-question examination.
Cash prizes, branded materials, and JAMB/UTME review textbooks were presented to the top three students.
Ms. Chioma Divine Ossai emerged as the third-place winner, followed by Ms. Promise Ebenyi in second place. The first-place award went to Ms. Favour Okpi, who demonstrated exceptional academic performance and commitment.
In recognition of her achievement, Prof. Akpodiete awarded her a full university scholarship.
The program also welcomed senior secondary school students who had not yet registered for JAMB due to various constraints, including financial limitations.
In a further demonstration of support, Prof. Akpodiete announced that he would personally sponsor the JAMB registration of another high-performing student, Ms. Favour Onah, who maintained perfect attendance and strong academic results throughout the program.
Special recognition was also given to the program coordinator, Mr. Henry Oghenevweta Onorhere, for his effective coordination of the sessions and overall logistical management.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Akpodiete reaffirmed his commitment to expanding access to education, technology, and opportunity for young people in underserved communities, noting that initiatives like JUOASAC are part of a broader vision to empower the next generation through knowledge and skills development.
